High street chains and warehouses

There is a wide range in quality between the chains, some of which are excellent, while others are more like outlets for beer and cigarettes with a few wines on the shelves. Because most warehouses buy in bulk, they tend to carry wines made in large quantities and of moderate quality. Most of them, fortunately, also try to cater to the customer looking for better-quality wines, and may have a fine wine corner or lists of fine wines that you can order but which are not routinely stocked. Some warehouses insist on your buying a minimum of a 12 bottle case, or at least offer a better discount on a case. Most of the chains and warehouses will deliver.
