Most shops keep a small selection of wine (mostly white and sparkling) in refrigerated cabinets. Unless you intend to drink the wine as soon as you have left the shop, it’s a better idea to select bottles from the shelves and chill the wine at home yourself. This is because the wine in chiller cabinets may not be in the best condition - it is often too cold, and may have been stored upright in the cabinet for longer than is good for it. The vibrations generated by the refrigerator motor can also be damaging.
