How you keep your wine affects how it develops in the bottle, both in terms of how soon the wine becomes ready to drink and how the wine’s components (acidity, tannin and fruit) develop and integrate.
Usually, the more expensive the wine, the more care you need to devote to ensuring correct storage conditions. This becomes even more pressing if you buy wines for investment, intending to sell part or all of your collection at a later date. Storage conditions will also affect how the outside of the bottle looks, which is important for re-sale, and for looking good on your dining table.
