Some wines have very little nose, and no matter how hard you try, you can define nothing from them. Tasters describe such wines as “dumb” or “closed”. Sometimes youth is the cause - some wines go through a dumb phase before reaching full maturity. Or the wine might be too cold, or it might need to breathe for a while before you taste it again.
