Max’s Sandwich Book

  • About
Do you remember the quote from the beginning of this book? “Anything can go in a sandwich!” Two pieces of bread are a vessel and all can sail in her. All you have to do is look at the contents of your fridge and cupboards a little differently.
Leftover meals are a brilliant place to begin — they have already been complete plates of food, so you can attend immediately to the sandwich at hand.
Say you’ve got leftover stew, boiled potatoes and those carrots no one really went for. I’d be thinking about vinegar and cumin on the carrots and parsley to join them. Wondering if those spuds could be sliced and fried up all crispy? I’d check if there were any pickles or some kraut hanging about? And I would DEFINITELY ponder the saturation point of stew juice and mayonnaise.
