Welcome to Riesling City! Pork belly, steaks, ribs, roasts, terrines, schnitzels and sausages all work superbly with the crunchy, dry styles of Riesling. Other fresh wines like Verdelho, Grüner Veltliner and Roussanne can get involved here too. Of the reds, Pinot Noir works with lighter pork dishes, but a light, textured Cinsault can be an exceptional companion. For BBQ pork dishes, find a good bottle of Grenache or Cabernet Franc.
