Whether you’re running a marathon or cooking dinner, all the knowledge in the world won’t help you if you don’t put it into practice. But all too often, exotic ingredients and complicated techniques create a roadblock in the kitchen, especially for busy athletes. We both like to cook for fun, often with our spouses. But most nights, after a day of work and at least one workout, we are hungry and tired (and, admittedly, sometimes hangry) at dinnertime. We don’t want to spend an hour in the kitchen or deal with a sink full of dirty dishes before bed. And when faced with a choice between perfectly pan-seared tofu that requires our undivided attention or baked tofu that’s nearly as crisp and requires far less supervision, we’ll choose the hands-free option. (We think you probably would, too.)
