See Grilled Chicken in an Algerian Marinade. This calls for a more “ethnic orientation”: Spanish reds from the Penedès or young crianza Rioja; Portuguese Colares and Periquita. Off-dry whites and even an off-dry but not too sweet Muscat wine would be lovely. Off-dry rosé types would be nice here too.
