a. On a lightly floured surface, cup your hands around a piece of dough, pushing inward at the bottom (step 2).
b. Rotate the dough in your hands, making it round and pulling uneven edges underneath (step 2).
c. Using a single-edge razor, slash 5 lines across the top of the formed boule, repeating 5 more lines at a diagonal to the first ones (step 5).
