It’s hard to find anything more local in Paris than vegetables, fruits, and flowers cultivated within city limits. Green-thumbed urbanites or those seeking solace from the city are able to find a haven thanks to a city-sponsored community garden charter called La Charte Main Verte. This charter supports the creation of shared gardens in Paris and has helped develop over eighty community gardens across the city in the past ten years.

Locating these hidden oases is not always easy, but a list of jardins partagés can be found on the city of Paris website, and more information is available through Jardinons Ensemble.
