Foraging for fresh herbs and edible plants can seem impossible in a city like Paris, with its meticulously kept gardens and their fervently protected patches of grass. Despite the lack of wild, wide-open spaces in Paris, it is possible to glean some lovely ingredients if you know where to look. Paris-based herbalist Marilyn Brentegani has a list of spots around the city that are abundant in wild flowers, plants, and herbs. Marilyn leads plant identification tours of the Bois de Vincennes, a large forested park on the eastern edge of Paris, where you are introduced to the prolific flora of the prairies and canopies of the park.
