  • About

L’heure de l’apéro is a favorite time of day in France, commemorating the transition between the day’s events and the evening meal—although many among us are likely guilty of an early afternoon apéro while en vacances. The aperitif hour includes wine or a simple cocktail and a selection of snacks to be enjoyed while winding down after a long day and taking time to converse with friends and family. The apéro is such an adored tradition that an extended version exists. Known as the apéro dinatoire, this type of soirée skips the table service, and has hosts providing a larger spread than your typical apéro and inviting guests to enjoy a sort of open-house ambience in an informal setting that can last from early evening well into the night.
