  • About
Potatoes have always played an important role in my menu planning. I don’t mean so much as a vegetable but as part of each individual dish. I almost become afraid that I would over-use them and have to come up with a new idea without potato.
But should I be afraid? After all they are one of our staple foods. They are eaten with just about every main course whether it be fish, meat or vegetarian - and let’s not forget frozen chips (they were once potatoes!) and crisps. Crisps, in fact, are made from one of the best and tastiest varieties that can be used for baking. They are grown mostly in Northern Ireland and Scotland and yes, you’ve guessed it, they are called Golden Wonder. It’s also almost impossible to obtain the seed potato, so forget it, you have no chance of telling your friends that you are growing your own Golden Wonders!
