Lady Lousada was born in New York City. Her Italian mother was a singer and an inspired cook with a wide knowledge of Italian and French cuisine. Patricia was a member of the New York City Ballet and her fellow dancers’ love of good food further involved her in cooking. She later lived in Paris for two years, where the experience of attending lectures at the Cordon Bleu school, against a background of Parisian restaurants, deepened her interest still more.
Pasta has always been a favourite food of her family and friends, and she has given lectures and demonstrations of pasta making and pasta cookery. Patricia has written two other books for Sainsburys, and other recent books include The Book of Sweets and the Book of Chocolate.
