Steaming can be a great way to highlight the flavors of fresh seasonal ingredients. Steam cooks food at a temperature that is higher than boiling water with no oil needed, making it one of the fastest and cleanest cooking techniques. Another benefit of steaming is that it helps preserve water-soluble vitamins, like B-complex vitamins and vitamin C, both of which are essential to feeling good.
Keep in mind that steaming doesn’t add flavor to your food; it only brings out the natural flavor, so it’s important to use the best-tasting, freshest ingredients with this method. The only special equipment you’ll need is a perforated steamer basket or colander that can fit inside a pot with a tight-fitting lid. The rest is easy.
