I’m kidding—you can’t plan to go viral. Well, you can position yourself to have the potential to get attention, but you can’t command the Internet gods (and you don’t want to tempt them). Anyway, here’s an example of how something in the pizza world takes off.

My ButterCrust recipe came about because I was recreating the ’80s-style Pizza Hut Pan Pizza for a “Hot Ones” video for First We Feast with Andrew W.K. and Sean Evans (it’s on YouTube). Andrew called it “the best pizza he’s eaten in his life,” so I guess I did something right.
