Creating a Team

This is an ongoing process that involves every other aspect of the project. Understanding decisions, compartmentalizing them and problems that must be solved, watching how I work, getting clients involved in the physical work—a lot must happen. I don’t just tell people what to do. I explain decisions I’ve made and recount my mistakes. This usually means long hours—fourteen-hour days. We clean, prep, do dishes, cook—together. That’s how you create a team. That’s how you lead.
