I’m all about making dishes beautiful, but it doesn’t need to be about perfection. It’s about making art with plants. It’s about having fun and taking a few moments before you serve your meal to create beauty with nature’s bounty.
We live in such a fast-paced world where, often, we don’t pay attention to what we are eating. Yet, if a dish is beautiful, it can bring us right to the present moment, helping us to get out of our heads and into our hearts.
When you see a visually-pleasing plate in front of you, full of colour and perhaps decorated with a few flowers, you can’t help but smile to yourself before you get stuck in. Without realizing it, you have taken a moment to acknowledge the beauty of the plants before you, a moment to connect with what you are eating. A moment to give gratitude to Mother Earth and all her bounty.
