Chestnuts: Shelled or Roasted

To remove the shells from fresh chestnuts, cut a small X on the flat side of each shell and either roast in a 375°F(190°C) oven for 10 to 15 minutes or cook in boiling water for 5 to 15 minutes, depending on whether or not the chestnuts will be cooked further. Chestnuts are easier to peel while they are still warm.
