  • Determine what equipment you need. Required equipment is generally listed in standardized recipes but not in recipes from other sources. Read every step of the procedure and write down which tools and equipment you need in each step.
  • Assemble all tools and equipment.
  • Prepare equipment as needed. For example, line sheet pans with parchment, grease cake pans, preheat ovens.
