One of the most magical days I’ve ever experienced working in a restaurant kitchen was back in 2016. I can’t remember all of the ins and outs, but we were slammed and we all should have been pissed off because [insert crazy thing] happened after [insert crazy thing], as they always do in restaurants. In the slightest of breaks between tickets, Lindsay came around the corner holding two large cantaloupes the only way one can walk holding two melons at one time. Allison looked up and said, “Hey Lindz, nice melons.” Lindsay, never one to miss a beat, responded, “You bet your butt. Best melons in the patch.” Becky laughed so hard she snorted and then plated a perfectly cooked egg. I took the plate and said, “I love you, ladies,” as I ran the food to the table.
