Introducing Greek Food

  • About
My forefathers, the ancient Greeks, were the first to understand the complex need to mix foods together in a certain way to make them pleasing to the palate. It was Archestratus in 320 BC who wrote the first cookbook in history, in which he advises his readers on where to get the best food in the Mediterranean world. Greece has a culinary tradition thousands of years old and, as with so many things, we Greeks did it first before the rest of the world copied us.
Here at The Real Greek we have authenticity as our guide. Where we can, we like to keep it ‘Real Greek’. We have the best olive oil from the ancient groves of Crete, the home of the world’s oldest living olive tree. Over 3,000 years old and it is still producing olives!
