I often hear people remark on how frustrating and confusing nutrition research can be; what’s good for us one day can be harmful the next. Over the last few years multiple different foods have been promoted as superfoods, from the exotic sun-dried shitake through to the humble chicken egg. Certainly in the years following the publication of this book nutrition researchers will go on to discover the beneficial properties of chemicals in many more of our staple plant foods.
