Listed below are some of the better wine producers in Liguria. Because production in most cases is small, there is relatively little exportation of Ligurian wine. However, if your travels take you to Liguria or if you can arrange through your wine seller or an importer to receive some Ligurian wine, these are all solid choices. As I suggest, in the absence of Ligurian wines, you may substitute reds such as Dolcetto from Piedmont or a medium-bodied Chianti Classico from Tuscany, or whites such as Vermentino from Tuscany or Sardinia, or a Vernaccia di San Gimignano from Tuscany.
