When I first opened Rockpool I wanted to serve food in the bar, so Trish and I decided to invest in a little pizza oven. It was great fun and everyone enjoyed playing around with it. It also helped out with a lot of staff meals. That oven now lives in the MCA cafe and produces pizzettas, to be eaten as you watch the ferries come into Circular Quay. Pizzas are a terrific vehicle for some very diverse toppings, and the sky’s the limit. However, please don’t put satay sauce on one, or red curry of chicken on another - Aslan flavours and pizza don’t mix; there’s something unholy and immoral about those kinds of combinations. It’s my feeling that people who perpetrate such sins be shot on sight. Here are a few ideas that are popular at Rockpool.
