  • About
This joyful holiday, also called the Festival of Lots, is celebrated on the fourteenth day of the month of Adar, usually in March, and commemorates the triumph of Queen Esther, aided by her cousin Mordecai, in outwitting the evil minister Haman who had advised King Ahasueros to kill all the Jews. Many dishes are sweet and sour, to recall how sweet it was to conquer adversity.
