I have thoroughly enjoyed writing this book. Sardinia is in my blood but I have only been able to write about it thanks to the involvement of so many people.

First and foremost, thank you to my wife Marilyn, who shares my dreams and passions and pushes me to achieve more than I ever thought possible, and to my two wonderful children, Martino and Sofia, who make it all worthwhile.

Thank you to my family, who have always supported me: my mother, Maria, who continues to amaze me with her resilience and love for all of us; my father, Tittino, a true Sardinian – hard-working and proud. And to my siblings, Alessandra, Cristiano and Martino (Martino, I wish you could have seen this book). My parents in-law, Rosalie and Tony Annecchini, and brother-in-law, Marco, have embraced me as their own son since I first arrived from Sardinia.
