The Sanskrit word ‘singabera’, meaning ‘horn shaped’, is where ginger is thought to have originally got its name.

Some texts suggest that Alexander the Great introduced ginger to the Western world and evidence implies that ginger first came to Greece during the Spice Trade Age.

Ginger was believed by several cultures to be an aphrodisiac, which increases blood flow. The Kama Sutra even suggests that ginger directly arouses sexual energies, making it an essential spice for reaching one’s sexual potential.
