Ginger consumption has been shown by some studies to lower cholesterol by reducing cholesterol absorption in the blood, which may also prevent the formation of internal blood clots. There is also evidence that when ginger is taken alongside onion and garlic the conbination stimulates the pancreas, which decreases cholesterol.

Upset stomachs are widely treated with ginger and ginger tea. Those who suffer from poor digestion and sensitive stomachs often benefit from a cup of ginger tea after each meal. Ginger has also been helpful in reducing symptoms of flatulence, heartburn and bloating. This is due in part to its fantastic antibacterial properties, which have also been shown to fight harmful bacteria, such as Staphylococcus.
