It has also been known to reduce the symptoms of vomiting, nausea, diarrhoea, abdominal pains and gastritis. The seed is also thought to be effective in preventing microbial infections and some viruses. Its antimicrobial properties also make it great for oral health.
There is evidence that aniseed can help the sufferers of sleep disorders such as insomnia. The essential oils can also calm the mind when taken after meals or before bed. Most commonly consumed as a tea, it is important to not boil the seed for too long, or the essential oils may be significantly reduced in strength.
