Growing up, a ritual occurred every Friday at 3 p.m. My entire family would gather in the parking lot next to the pizzeria to await the arrival of the China Bus. The China Bus was a mobile Asian grocery store, stocked with everything you could imagine. This unique vehicle had its typical seats removed, making room for shelves and crates filled with Asian products and ingredients. As a child, my attention was captivated by the array of snacks and candies that I might persuade my parents to buy me, if I was lucky. My absolute favorite were the small jellies in various fruit flavors, with lychee being the most delightful.
