This is a photograph I found at my eldest sister’s house when I visited her in 2001 (she married and emigrated to Canada before I was born). It was taken by her friends who came to visit us in Marjeyoun from Canada. This was her first introduction to me. I am the little girl in white.
Being a very shy & withdrawn child, my parents sent me to summer camp starting at the age of nine, although I resented their decision to send me to an alien environment the experience gave me a lot of skills that aimed me in later life, organisational, creative, educational & social.
