  • About
Tricky to grow in our climate, most non-organic cucumbers are grown hydroponically, never seeing any soil. I really think you can taste the difference when they are grown in soil. Our Devon crop starts in late spring and can last through to October in a warm year. In winter we resort to our growers in Spain, to avoid using heated glass.
I am a particular fan of our mini cucumbers, which lend themselves to cucumber pickle, a long-standing Watson family favourite. Making this is a bit of a family ritual at the end of the season. The recipe is on our website, and we also offer pickling kits, spices, jar labels and all, when we have a glut. If you are not a pickling enthusiast, you may jind the finished article for sale on our website when my brother Ben makes a batch in our farm kitchen.
