After working for several years in restaurant kitchens in New York, Paris, and San Francisco, I joined Stars when it opened in the summer of 1984. In less than a decade Stars has become an institution in San Francisco. An American rendition of the old brasseries of Europe and New York, it provides a gathering place with innovative food, fine service, and a lively atmosphere. Under its founder, Jeremiah Tower, Stars is also internationally recognized for being at the forefront of the culinary scene.
