  • About
The atmosphere is thick with celebration: fragrant motia and rose bracelets adorn women dressed in festive attire, glass bangles clink together, glittery embellishments on dresses shine like stars. Then, in an instant, the aroma from the flowers is joined by the long-awaited smoke from barbecue pits, which rises to curl around the shimmering fairy lights, whispering of spice and slow cooking.
It’s followed by saffron and sweet desserts scented with kewra water, a distilled extract of the pandanus flower. The very air carries the mouthwatering anticipation that fills everyone’s mind at any celebration in Pakistan, be it Eid, a wedding or a festive dinner party.
