ONLY REAL SHELLFISH FANS CAN FACE THE FUNGUS-LIKE EXTERIOR OF THE VIOLET OR FIGUE DE MER (SEA FIG). CUT OPEN IT REVEALS A SPONGY GREY INTERIOR FILLED WITH WHAT COULD ONLY POLITELY BE DESCRIBED AS VERY WET SCRAMBLED EGGS.
