  • About
The foundation of all Korean meals, from breakfast to dinner is rice. In combination with soup and vegetables it forms an essential part of a nutritious and satisfying Korean meal. Recipes for two of the most widely eaten rice dishes are given here. These are both examples of staple dishes, and most households keep a steamer on so rice is readily available at any time of the day or night.
As with soup and vegetable dishes, the flavours in Korean rice dishes are understated, and are designed to balance and complement the tastes of the accompanying dishes. Knowing the art of preparing the basic rice recipes that are shown here is an essential requirement for creating the heart of any Korean meal.
