Café Fish, a small restaurant on the upper floor of the CalMac booking office on the ferry pier at Tobermory, is owned and run by cousins Jane Gill and Liz McGougan, who were brought up in houses next door to each other on the shores of Loch Fyne in the fishing village of Tarbert. Most of their working lives have been spent in the catering trade, starting off in the early 80s in the family’s Anchor Hotel, Tarbert, specialising in fresh Loch Fyne seafood. They opened Café Fish in 2004 and it has since won many awards, including Lonely Planer recommending them as one of their top five restaurants in Scotland and the Good Food Guide rating them as UK Fish Restaurant of the Year in 2012.
