  • About
After a spicy Thai meal, it is customary to serve a platter of fresh fruits, often carved into the most beautiful shapes, to cleanse the palate. Ices are popular too, especially when based on watermelon or fresh lime juice. However, Thais also love sticky sweetmeats, and will often pick up their favourite treats from a stall at a night market, where they will be presented prettily on palm leaves or with a decoration of tiny flowers. Fried bananas and pineapple are also widely enjoyed.
