Mademoiselle Vivette felt that the vineyards along both banks of the River Rhône, from just south of Lyon to the districts around Avignon, were among the happiest of hunting grounds for the wine lover in search of excellent quality at fine values. She regularly drives to the Rhone to taste and buy the attractive and charming light reds from the“roasted slope,” the Côte Rôtie; some of the excellent reds from the districts of Crozes-Hermitage, Comas, and Saint-Joseph. Also, she will try the fruity and exceptionally light reds of the Domaine du Beau Renard in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
