  • About

These are glass salvers or cake stands stacked sometimes three or four high, one on top of the other, and the various tiers or levels filled with such foods as Cranberry Tarts, Brandy Snaps, Nic-Nacs, and Iced Grapes. Iced Grapes were especially well liked because they could be draped over the edges. They give a wonderful snowy effect to the arrangement. There is a recipe for making Iced Grapes. A glass stand with Iced Grapes on two levels may be seen.
