‘Orishirishi’ is the Yoruba word for ‘variety.’ The Orishirishi Cookbook is inspired by my passion for exploring various dishes found in many regions of Nigeria, as well as the need to document these mouth-watering recipes for us and generations to come. Food is at the core of Nigerian culture, and with this cookbook, I have curated some of the best local recipes accessible to Nigerians at home as well as in the diaspora.
Before The Orishirishi Cookbook, Orishirishi kitchen was launched to introduce a variety of Nigerian dishes to the Bogobiri menu. The core ethos of Orishirishi kitchen is to use locally-sourced produce which is carefully selected from farms and markets across Nigeria. It also seeks to showcase some of the best tastes from Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage. With the opening of Orishirishi kitchen, it was only a matter of time before I wrote a cookbook, and I am so excited to be sharing this with you today.
