Using the Freezer in August

  • About
Cool summer drinks are always in demand on hot days. If you have a freezer keep a good collection of ice cubes handy. To prevent them from sticking together when stored in a bag either use the rubber ice-cube trays from which the cubes can be pressed without running under cold water, or turn out the ice cubes and arrange on a flat tin or tray. Space them apart, so they do not touch. Replace in the freezer, uncovered, for long enough for the outside surfaces of the cubes to freeze dry. Tip the ice cubes into a bag and they will stay separate. Tie the ice bag closed and keep in the freezer, adding more cubes when necessary.
