There is a saying that was drilled into my head back when I was in grade school: “If it is to be, it is up to me.” The power of positive thinking is a beautiful thing, and it’s what I tend to lean toward. I, the 3rd child of Ellen and Clifton Brock, am here today as the elected Southeast Regional Vice President of the American Culinary Federation (ACF), a Certified Executive Pastry Chef, and the first African American female inducted into the honor society of the American Academy of Chefs (ACF).
