Growing up on the island of St. Lucia, I spent a lot of time at family dinners helping my mother and grandmother in the kitchen in any way I could. My favorite dish was ackee and saltfish. I still love it to this day. During the holidays, we would house hop from neighbor to neighbor, as everyone prepared a different dish and drink. My dad always made his Caribbean milk punch (we use rum on the islands) and family and friends would stop by and spend time talking and reminiscing. It was a great place to grow up. My childhood influences so much of what I do today.
