My Parents: The Reason Behind Writing this Book

I am the proud daughter of Dr. Hasan Rizvi, an Ophthalmologist by profession and a philanthropist at heart. Abbo worked for several years at the Henderson Eye Hospital (Red Cross) in Mirpur Khas, setting up free eye camps in the rural areas of Sindh. He was driven by his passion for Ophthalmology and travelled the world to learn and gain experience in his field. He came back to Karachi in 1975.

He worked in different hospitals in Karachi, while running his private practice in the evenings. Abbo often said that medicine should not be a commercialised business, and healthcare should be a fundamental human right.
