We knew from the outset what we wanted to do: select some of the salads we make every week at The Kitchen and photograph the whole book over the course of one week. The book would develop in real time alongside the food! No studios, no extra lighting, and using only the props and linens already in The Kitchen!
We decided to have a celebratory lunch for the Sunday of our book, and I invited friends and family to my home in Woodstock. In the same way we cater parties we made food at The Kitchen for a party at home.
