It’s impossible to get through the holidays without overeating and drinking at a party here or there. What’s a girl (or guy) to do? This year I’ve adopted a strategy that my brother Billy has forever preached to me. For any holiday event where you know there will be plenty of wonderful temptations, before you leave the house, eat some fresh vegetables and fruits and have a big glass of water. Then when you’re faced with the cookies, the candies, the crispy fried foods, the over-the-top martinis, and the glorious cheeses, you’ll still enjoy them, but you’ll eat and drink much less.
