Welcome to Claire's: 35 Years of Recipes and Reflections from the Landmark Vegetarian Restaurant

  • About

This book is really a love story. That is because everything about Claire’s has to do with love— love for others, love for community, love for organic and sustainable foods, and love for the past, the present, and the future. Really, it’s as simple as that.

Since September 17, 1975, Claire’s Corner Copia has been located at 1000 Chapel Street. It’s at the corner of College Street in New Haven, Connecticut, right across the street from the old campus at Yale University, and diagonally across from the historic New Haven Green. This location is undeniably the most beautiful corner in the city. It’s the place where you can see the first daffodils of spring as they pop up from the land surrounding the Yale campus; it’s the place where you can see the reflection of the majestic steeple from the Trinity Church on the Green through our windows; and it’s the place where you can feel like you’re in the center of the city, surrounded by the warmth and comfort that comes from a place of love.
