Purple Deceiver

Laccaria amethystina Some years this is the most common edible to be found. It can be found in most kinds of woodland but seems to be most prolific in beech woods. It is distinctively purple all over including the gills. Should you find a little violet mushroom with white gills and stem discard it, it is a poisonous species.
